A holiday in Unterach has an Italian touch to it, the village on the Southern shore of Lake Attersee used to be called ‘Little Venice‘. Today, Unterach is a wonderful mix of imposing villas from the turn of the century and a rural village.

The Unterach Lido with its fenced-in children’s area in the lake and the multi-sports facilities constitute the sportive centre of Unterach am Attersee. There is a beach volleyball court, a climbing tower, minigolf, a tennis court and many other facilities.

Countless events such as beach concerts of the Unterach band, a handicraft market and the Unteracher Kultursommer events ensure cultural highlights all year round.

For a discovery of the beautiful natural environment just pick one of the many hiking trails around the village. The sweet chestnut tree forest, a fairy tale trail for children or the high moor area around Egelsee Lake offer hiking fun for everyone. Plant lovers will be impressed by the flora of the high moor including six species of carnivorous plants and wonderful orchids. At the top of Hochplettspitz a viewing platform is currently under construction which offers a fabulous view of the lake and the Höllengebirge mountain range across the lake.

Skating and skiing – Unterach am Attersee in the Winter
There are lots of possibilities to practice sports in Unterach – not only during swimming season. Give your best at the skating rink or at one of the rinks for icestock sports (a fun outdoor activity similar to curling) located right in the village. A skilift at Druckerhof, close to Unterach, will keep skiers busy for a few hours.
