Seewalchen am Attersee

Seewalchen am Attersee, Oberösterreich, Österreich
A meeting point for sports, traditional costumes and Gustav Klimt? Of course:  Seewalchen am Attersee!

The clear, turquoise waters of Lake Attersee are irresistible for everyone on holiday in Seewalchen am Attersee. There is so much to do both in and on the water! But it is just the same ashore. Seewalchen has a lot to offer in many respects: culture, tradition, sports and nature.

The tourist office for Schörfling/Seewalchen is located at our tourist office in Nußdorf am Attersee, Dorfstraße 33, 4865 Nußdorf am Attersee.

The diving platform and the moor of Gerlham
Let’s start with the aquatic activities: Strandbad Seewalchen is favourite spot for divers! The 10m diving platform is the main attraction there. Another fun place for a beach day is Litzlberg beach. Waterskiing, rowing and sailing round off the range of water sports on offer.
The moor of Gerlham is a perfect place to get away from the bustle and spend some quiet time in nature. If you are in for a challenge, we recommend the high-rope course with its towers and ropes – a real thrill.

Art and cultural heritage on the lake
Today, they are listed as UNESCO World Heritage site, back then they were simply the homes of the pile dwellers. At the pile dwelling pavilion in Seewalchen am Attersee, you will learn what the life of these prehistoric settlers was like. Gustav Klimt’s times in Seewalchen are not as long gone. Sojourning on the lake, he spent much of his time at Villa Paulick. The villa is listed today and welcomes modern day summer guests for a stay, a play or other cultural event.

Our highlights in the winter
In the winter, many restaurants prepare icestock rinks for a fun outdoor activity similar to curling. When there is enough snow, the 10 km cross country slope from Lenzing to Litzlberg is another wintertime attraction.
Let Lake Attersee inspire you like it inspired Gustav Klimt and enjoy your holidays in Seewalchen am Attersee!
