The Attersee-Attergau region

In the heart of Austria, in the Salzkammergut, you'll find the Attersee-Attergau region in a super convenient location, right on the A1 West Motorway, between Salzburg and Linz, in the northern Salzkammergut! The Attersee is synonymous with deep turquoise blue water of drinking quality, while the Attergau is known for its lovely hilly landscape with stunning views! The Attersee-Attergau region consists of twelve tourist communities: Attersee am Attersee, Berg im Attergau, Frankenmarkt, Nußdorf am Attersee, St. Georgen im Attergau, Schörfling am Attersee, Seewalchen am Attersee, Steinbach am Attersee, Strass im Attergau, Unterach am Attersee, Vöcklamarkt and Weyregg am Attersee. Together, they offer true hospitality with culinary specialities and delicacies from the region.

It is no coincidence that pile dwellers, Celts and Romans, as well as famous and well-known artists such as Gustav Mahler and Gustav Klimt, have settled here in the past and present. A well-maintained natural and cultural landscape, breathtaking mountains and countless sporting opportunities in the air, on land, in or under water are waiting to be discovered here. A beautiful spot that is well worth a visit.
