Founded as a dilettante theater company On 25 November 1919, courageous Seewalchen citizens founded the "Dilettanten Theatergesellschaft" as an association. People from all walks of life came forward and showed great interest in this new cultural institution of the village, both as active participants and as enthusiastic spectators. The statutes of the association were approved at the general meeting on 17 April 1920, at the municipal committee meeting on 20 April 1920 and finally by the Upper Austrian provincial government on 16 November 1921.
The founding members and many volunteers built a new stage building onto the then still existing hall of the Stallinger Inn. Since then, many people have stood by the theatre and supported it through this long period. The founding members should be mentioned and thanked here as representatives of all of them.
The founding members were: Max Laminger; Josef, Lisl and Mali Häupl; Michael Kratzer; Johann and Karoline Hofmann; Josef Ruthmann; Theresia and Anna Hüttmayer; Johann and Maria Lenzenweger; Ignaz Rosenauer; Josef Gebetsroither; Valerie Kristof; Josef Idlhammer; Gustav, Ida and Ernst Gunzy; Karl Andorfer and Alois Fürtbauer.
