Schörfling am Attersee – Enjoy a Klimt-like holiday

The tourist office for Schörfling/Seewalchen is located at our tourist office in Nußdorf am Attersee, Dorfstraße 33, 4865 Nußdorf am Attersee.

At the Northern end of Lake Attersee you can spend a very special holiday full of culture, relaxation and activity. Whatever your preferences, you are sure to find a suitable offer. Gustav Klimt knew very well, what Lake Attersee could give him. He spent his summer sojourns from 1900 to 1916 in different places around the lake. In addition to its cultural heritage, Schörfling am Attersee is a member community of the Attersee-Traunsee Nature Park and thus especially devoted to the protection and preservation of nature and landscape.

From Klimt to young contemporary artists
The natural environment of Lake Attersee inspired many of the landscape paintings of Gustav Klimt. The linden tree alley leading to the impressive lakeshore castle Kammer is one of his most famous motifs. Only a few steps from this alley, on the Gustav-Klimt theme path, you can immerse yourself  in the time of Klimt’s sojourns on Lake Attersee. Another cultural hotspot is Galerie Zwach. Temporary exhibitions there allow young artists to present themselves and their works of art…
Guests interested in local history should not miss out on a visit of the Heimathaus, the museum of local history. A variety of exhibits from prehistoric times all the way to our days make the history of the village come alive.

Holidays full of activity – on horse-back or around the water
‘No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle’ – said Winston Churchill. And it applies also to riding on Lake Attersee. At the riding stable Schloss Kammer, all riders rejoice. Every year, a riding festival takes place here. Back on the lakeshore you can rent boats to explore the lake. Those who prefer the depths of the lake are referred to different diving zones around the lake. And after a day full of sports, enjoy a round of minigolf at the lakeside promenade.

Eating out and sleeping in in Schörfling am Attersee
After treating yourself to culinary delights at one of our restaurants, enjoy the sunset while strolling along the lakeside promenade, before finding a good-night’s sleep in one our pensions, holiday apartments or at a hotel.

Christmas on Lake Attersee
When the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, Lake Attersee becomes a quiet place. A variety of bigger and smaller Christmas markets in Schörfling and the other lakeside villages spread a Christmassy atmosphere.
