Among locals and regular guests from near and far, the fish kebap from Unterach is a culinary insider tip. Around 10 years ago, people here came up with the fish kebap and fish Dürum. Practical and handy, refined with homemade yoghurt sauce, you can enjoy the salmon trout from their own farm in the innovative form of a kebab.
After a few years of testing, the company began actively promoting the product in 2013. The fish kebab with salmon trout from their own lake trout farm, between Mondsee and Attersee, is always available on Fridays in good weather from 10:00 to 16:00 and in July and August also on Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00 at the in-house snack bar as well as at their own stand at regional events.
Lohninger's blueberry garden is nestled in the gently rolling hills between Seewalchen am Attersee and Gampern. The unique view of the Höllengebirge mountains and the proximity to Lake Attersee make the blueberry garden itself a special excursion destination.
Only the best berries, grown on the farm, are used in the Lohinger family's blueberry products. Carefully processed by hand, without the addition of artificial colourings or preservatives, these are pure nature.
In 2002, the young couple Christina & Thomas took over the Kibler family farm to carry on the family tradition. The couple have always been united by their love of nature, their connection to the region and their passion for "local fruit".
Together, they developed a product that expresses their passion for local fruit and their shared love of visionary ideas and technological innovation - a product that would revitalise the Kibler farm, create sustainable relationships and strengthen the region.
Fishery Ecker For over 60 years
our family business has been spoiling you daily with freshly caught and smoked fish. The "Fischer-Pepi", daughter of a fishing family, started fishing on Lake Attersee back in 1944!
Smoked fish in the old traditional way:
Smoked fish are our speciality, as our own smokehouse is still fired with wood (beech wood) in the old traditional way. This guarantees the well-known quality of our smoked products! Norbert Ecker is now the 3rd generation to run the business. We will continue to endeavour to spoil you with expert advice, top freshness and 1A quality.
In 2012, the idea of turning the part-time farm into a full-time business became a reality. Together with his wife, Bernhard Gangl got into sheep. The barn and lake view were rebuilt and various homemade products can be purchased from April to October.
The sheep's cheese is particularly popular and is used by restaurateurs at Lake Attersee and throughout the Attergau region. A special feature is the 0-24 h vending machine directly at the farm, so you can stock up on the various sheep's milk products around the clock. Bernhard and Monika Gangl are supported by their dog Flake.
Together with Seewalchen and Mondsee, Attersee has been selected for the 2027 Provincial Exhibition with the theme: Sunken - reappeared. The Kaltenböck brewery has brewed a beer to match the pile dwellings on Lake Attersee and Mondsee. It is a dark herbal beer with raw materials that were already known and cultivated in the Neolithic Age.
Kaltenböck Brewery - When a hobby leads to growing your own barley and hops
It was Volkher Kaltenböck who first became involved with the art of brewing after graduating from the University of Munich in Weihenstephan. The first brewing attempts followed shortly afterwards on his parents' farm with a manageable quantity of 10 litres.
The Kaltenböck brewery's beers have now won several awards and, since 2018, the brewery has even been growing its own barley and hops in its own fields. The company's flagship brew, Hoangarten beer, was awarded 1st place in the unfiltered lager category. The Hoangarten beer can be tasted all year round in the cider tavern of the same name in Palmsdorf in the village of Attersee am Attersee. Opening hours Friday - Sunday from 16:00 to 24:00.
The Pfahlbaubier has been chosen for the regional Bier4er. A very special beer which is also the harbinger of the 2027 regional exhibition.
