Hiking and Mountaineering in the Attersee-Attergau Region

Hiking is not just the miller's delight! The holiday region Attersee-Attergau offers a wide range of moderate hiking tours, family and pleasure hikes, the Weitwanderweg Attersee-Attergau (long distance hiking route), the Attersee-Traunsee Nature Park and the more demanding mountain hikes of the Höllengebirge or on the Schafsberg, for all nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts – and also for prospective hikers.

From moderate hiking to really working off energy – there is something to suit all tastes and for every level of hiking difficulty! Adventure seekers may try to face the Attersee Klettersteig Mahdlgupf (fixed-rope route) challenge, the bouldering area Forstamt or one of the various fixed-rope routes of the Höllengebirge.

Climbing, Mountaineering and Adventure

Try out new experiences at the bouldering areas Steinbach-Forstamt, at the Hochseilgarten Attersee (high rope course) and at the climbing-tower at Unterach. Or what about a splashy hiking tour with diving goggles at and in the Gimbach Cascades at the Weißenbachtal? For more experienced climbers the Höllengebirge offers several climbing paths with varying degrees of difficulty and the very challenging Attersee Klettersteig Mahdlgupf  – one of the many fixed-rope routes in the Salzkammergut.
