Nymph Waterfall

Steinbach am Attersee, Oberösterreich, Österreich

This beautiful and easy family walk leads us to the waterfall. According to the legend, the waterfall shelters a nymph.

The starting point of this family hike is the parking lot on the avenue in the village of Weißenbach am Attersee. We follow the artists' trail toward Weißenbachtal up to the main road. After about 100 m we cross the Fachbergbrücke to the right. There we orient ourselves on the Eibenberg trail along the Weißenbach stream in the south. After a few meters we turn right and walk in the shade of the trees to the mermaid case. This route is well signposted and (except for the last section) also suitable for baby carriages. After a while, we finally reach the imposing, about 50 m high waterfall, where a blackboard informs us about the legend of the mermaid at Lake Attersee. After a break, we use the same way back to our starting point.
