Winter is when the grilled cheese is wrapped in bacon.
Often still "cow-warm", the milk from the farm is processed directly into high-quality products at the Doff farm cheese dairy. Sliced cheese, camembert, farmer's feta, cream cheese balls and fruit yoghurt. Eva Hemetsberger has a very special gourmet tip for the winter. The cheese wrapped in bacon and preserved in oil not only tastes good but is also perfect for raclet. The farm shop at Hofkäserei Doff is open every Saturday from 14:00 to 17:00 and by appointment.

An Italian treat in winter at "Da Charly" in Steinbach am Attersee
Even in winter, you can enjoy original Italian pizza and pasta right in the centre of Steinbach am Attersee at "Da Charly". Charly, born and raised in Calabria, spoils us with his culinary skills. After many years in the Gortana Passage in Wels, he moved to Steinbach am Attersee a few years ago. The view directly into the pizza oven is particularly nice in winter, when you are usually sitting inside. So you can watch his pizza as it finishes baking.

With or without snow: an absolute must in winter in the Attersee-Attergau region is a visit to the Födinger Alm in Weyregg am Attersee. There, after an easy hike, you can enjoy not only a beautiful view, but also a true classic of Austrian cuisine: a Beuschl served with bread dumplings.
