The Nußdorf nativity scene, probably the largest Advent wreath on the 10-metre diving tower in Seewalchen, the decorated Attergaustraße and a contemplative Advent boat trip.
Soak up the magic of the pre-Christmas season at various Advent events in the region or use the Attersee-Attergau region as a central starting point for numerous Christmas markets, Perchten and Krampus runs and events in the surrounding area.

Highlight attractions during Advent
Visit the Nußdorf nativity scene, set up the Angel Aloysius, create Advent windows and enjoy a contemplative Advent season together.
These are all traditions that have been practised for generations in the Attersee-Attergau region in the run-up to Christmas.
Weyregg Advent Trail
The kindergarten and primary school children create an atmospheric Advent trail in Weyregg am Attersee in the area of the church and the parish community centre.
Accessible daily from 01 December.
Seewalchen Advent tower
Once again this year, Austria's tallest Advent wreath with a life-size candle will be visible throughout the Advent season from 29 November in Seewlachen am Attersee at the lido.
Christmas crib with personal character
Every year during the Advent season in Nußdorf am Attersee a nativity scene with larger-than-life figures is set up in the music pavilion. The lovingly designed cot figures represent inhabitants of Nußdorf. In the course of time the number of figures has grown.
A beautiful angel watches over the nativity scene itself and announces the following: "Take a break and stop by where the people of Nußdorf keep watch at the village nativity scene at Christmas time - and with their ancestors!
Attersee Christmas messenger
Since December 2006, the 11.8 metre high Christmas angel "Aloysius" can be found directly at the landing stage in Unterach during the winter months. It is a unique Advent symbol on Lake Attersee and a much-visited landmark. The Christmas angel invites you to reflect, be grateful and think of others , especially during Advent. Each angel is a genuine piece of handicraft and is made with great attention to detail. In Unterach, the angel is festively illuminated from the 1st Sunday in Advent until the beginning of January.
Glöckler drive away evil spirits
An ancient custom in the Salzkammergut is the Glöckler: Every year on January 5th, on the evening before Epiphany, men and women dressed in white and wearing their lovingly designed light caps run from house to house to banish evil and bring salvation and blessing with their bells on their backs.
The production of the Glöcklerkappen requires a lot of craftsmanship and attention to detail. During the Glöcklerauf several Glöckler always form a so-called pass. Even the little ones are eager to join in and form their own children's passports.

Austria's first underwater nativity scene
Once again this year, the "first underwater nativity scene on Lake Attersee" will be sunk on the 1st Sunday in Advent at the "Dixi" diving entry point in Weyregg!
The underwater nativity scene can be visited from 01.12.2024 until 02.02.2025
Baroque cot
300 years old in Frankenmarkt
The baroque nativity scene, which is over 300 years old, is housed in its own nativity scene museum in Frankenmarkt. It does not correspond to the conventional form of our nativity scene. It is much more of a baroque nativity scene, a magnificent installation that attempts to transport the Christmas events to a rich royal town.

The Attergaustrasse in Advent
Every year during the Advent season, the Attergaustrasse in St. Georgen im Attergau is festively decorated and invites you to stroll. Around 100 Christmas trees line the main street and create a festive atmosphere.
In the evening, when dusk has fallen, the shopkeepers place lanterns with illuminated candles in front of their doors. In addition to the traditional Christmas lighting, around 600 red Christmas tree baubles create a very special atmosphere, even during the day.
