On June 28, 2026, the idyllic setting of Steinbach am Attersee will become the stage for a musical event of extraordinary cultural significance:
A concert in a class of its own awaits us with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, one of the leading orchestras in Central Europe, under the outstanding direction of chief conductor Markus Poschner.

130 years after its composition, Gustav Mahler's 3rd Symphony, which was written here in the small "composer's cottage" on the lakeshore and is now one of the most monumental and visionary works in music history, will be performed for the first time at the place where it was written.

The summers of 1895 and 1896 were the time in which Mahler pushed ahead and completed the work on his Third Symphony, which he had begun in 1892 - in his composer's cottage at the concert venue Steinbach am Attersee. He was probably also referring to this when he wrote to the singer Anna Bahr-Mildenburg about his work: "The whole of nature is given a voice in it and tells such deeply secret things that one might suspect in a dream!" The opportunity to experience this symphony in its place of origin with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz under the direction of chief conductor Markus Poschner is also a dream come true.
