"We'll freeze our arses off for you!" This is how this unusual sailing regatta could be summarised in just a few words. The Optimist boat class is normally used by children for their first sailing experience. In this race, adults are in the boat to do something good for children...

NET PROCEEDS GO TO SEELENPFLASTER
Following the North German model, around 100 adults (the minimum age is 20 years) will compete in Optimist class children's dinghies at the start of the frostiest event of the year. The Optimist boat class is designed for sailors weighing up to 40 kg and can barely keep some seasoned sea dogs afloat. Especially for the class over 100 kg, it is an annual balancing act between icy water and a dry finish.

EISARSCH PARTY: CULINARY DELIGHTS, HEATED TENT
A hot atmosphere is already guaranteed during the relentless battles for position. While the die-hards freeze their "asses off", the "wimps" can warm up from the inside as much as they like at the catering facilities: A heated marquee with plenty of solid and liquid culinary delights is available for this purpose. The heated marquee will be in operation from Friday.

The race starts at 12.12 on Saturday. Later in the afternoon, after all participants are hopefully dry and warmed up again, the EISARSCH party really gets going. As is tradition, the party continues until the first rays of sunshine make the lake sparkle.

Defy the ice and snow and support the charitable aim of the event by coming along to help warm the hearts of children in difficult circumstances.

The EISARSCH - a highlight for optimists in optimists!

The net proceeds from the EISARSCH 2024 charity event will go to the "Seelenpflaster" organization, an association for the promotion of mental health for children and young people in Nußdorf am Attersee.
