Church concert to go

Music to listen to again and again

In a growing atmosphere of uncertainty and gloomy future scenarios, the need for security and stability, for retreat, inner contemplation and protection is also growing. People who find an anchor in their religion are provided for to a certain extent. But even for people without traditional religious ties, sacred spaces can be a temporary home, providing the sense of security that is needed at the time.

Church choirs have been part of Christian churches since the Reformation. They accompany the everyday life of village communities (in rural areas) in a church context.

In addition, church choirs are also places of communal activity. Due to religious alienation, it is also becoming increasingly difficult for choirs to keep up with these social trends by recruiting sufficient young talent. The "church concert to go" is intended to address the different circumstances of churchgoers with short pieces based on individual songs from the classical repertoire - from great joy to deep sorrow. These "mini-concerts" are also intended to show the importance of the choir's performance, present the song repertoire and highlight areas of development by including new songs, decoupled from the actual performance.

Thus, the church is experiencing a new interpretation of its own motto: "Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Mt 11:28). (Mt 11:28)

The "Church concert to go" can be heard at 10 am and 4 pm in the Unterach parish church. If you would like to take the concert home with you, you can pick up a postcard with a QR code in the church foyer. The card provides information about the project, the songs sung and can also be sent as a postcard.

The project was realised thanks to LEADER funding.
