"Aufhamer Uferwald" (Lakeside forest)- nature reserve since 1987
The "Aufhamer Uferwald" is a preserved witness of time. It is a relict of the former lakeside forest of Lake Attersee. The only natural lakeside forest is located in the village of Attersee am Attersee between the villages of Aufham and Altenberg. In addition to a unique stand of old trees, it is also a valuable habitat for animals. In 1987, an area of about 1.8 hectares was designated a nature reserve.
