Lake Attersee bee farm, beautifully situated above the lake, invites old and young into the world of the honey bees.
An instructive nature trail comprising 30 information boards for three different levels and a show-case bee hive leads our visitors through the life of a honeybee and explains its products. All the information on the boards is given in both German and English. The wonderful view from the nature trail over Lake Attersee and the Höllengebirge mountain range makes the bee keeper's farm a perfect spot for nature lovers.
Following the nature trail visitors will pass three bee islands a bit afield with countless busy honey bees. Depending on the season and the weather conditions, you can watch the bustling activity at the entrance, see a full honey comb or watch out for the queen bee.
Special guided tours for children are available during the summer holidays. Explanations, games and of course tasting - tailor-made for kids.
Every week and all year round, there are guided tours for old and young on Saturdays at 2:30 pm. Please sign up by Friday noon. Guided toursfor groups are available anytime from Monday to Saturday upon request.
The bee keeper's farm goes with the seasons and the annual summer festival, a hike around 11 November (St. Martin), Saint Nicholas, readings, bazars, guided herb walks and many other attractions have their place in the program. Every Friday in Advent, the smell of honey glögg (typ of mulled wine), delicious pastry and freshly oven-baked bread make the farm shop even more enticing.
The farm shop offers not only snacks and drinks but also a wide variety of honeys from around the world, candles made of fragrant bees wax as well as cosmetics made with bees wax. Charming small presents and souvenirs are available at attractive prices. The „Gsunde Eck“ (healthy shelve) containing propolis, pollen but also organic tees and herbs rounds off the healthy offer of the farm shop at the beekeeper's farm in Attersee am Attersee, a project fully committed to an environmentally friendly business and the responsible use of resources. The honeys produced here are certified organic products and the beekeeper's farm is a member of the Bio-Austria assocation.

On the 1 ½ km long nature trail, visitors will learn all about the life of these important insects. Every week there is a tour for all ages and special group tours with tastings are possible upon request. Numerous products from our native bees can also be purchased in our shop.
The Beekeeper Farm on Lake Attersee, open since May 2014, has become a well-visited attraction. Even our gouverneur Dr. Josef Pühringer tried our honey.
This unique project not only secures the status of bees in the region but also offers valuable information. A nature trail with 30 show board leads the guest through fruit orchards and meadows full of herbs.
You can observe the bees close up in the three bee islands and the showcase hive. Our aim is the natural form of beekeeping and we have been awarded with a Certificate for organic beekeeping. We also lay emphasis to quarantee the protection of the bees. Here you will not find the cutting of the wings (sometimes practiced on the Queen bee), or artificial reproduction methods.
The nature trail is open all year and is easy accessible. The highlight of this informative walk is of course our local shop. Here you will find many organic products from the region and a large selection of honey and products of our bees.
