St. Mary's Pilgrimage Church

The Catholic Parish Church Vöcklamarkt - The VÖCKLADOM
After the first Christianisation by Roman soldiers, Pfaffing was chosen as the mission centre of the Vöcklatal at the end of the 12th century. The first church to be built was a small Romanesque church. Due to the size of the parish, the Romanesque church soon became too small. Therefore, a new large church in gothic style was built around the middle of the 15th century. A masterpiece of late Gothic with 18th century Baroque - The VÖCKLADOM! In the years 1977 -1961 a thorough interior renovation of the parish church took place. Old frescoes were uncovered during this process.
