Holidays are always great. Get away from it all, discover new places and broaden your horizons. However, to overcome the distance to your holiday destination, you need a means of transport that will take you from A to B as a guest.
Travelling by train or other public transport saves time, money and nerves. You can also enjoy the view and let your thoughts run free. Travelling is particularly climate-friendly if you replace a short-haul flight with a train journey. Travelling by car is also a good alternative.
Another option for a resource-saving journey is, for example, travelling by electric car. Sufficient planning is the be-all and end-all here. The network of charging stations on the roads on and to Lake Attersee and through the Attergau region is very well developed. During short coffee breaks along the route, your car can be recharged and you can continue your journey in a relaxed manner.
The Freizeit-Ticket OÖ is the first day network ticket for local public transport in Upper Austria. It allows you to discover the whole of Upper Austria by public transport alone, as a couple or with the whole family. Up to two adults and four children under the age of 15 can travel for one day for 19.90 euros.
The Atterseebahn railway between Vöcklamarkt and Attersee offers modern mobility for schoolchildren, commuters and excursionists. In addition to scheduled services, the programme also includes adventure trips.
The Upper Austrian Transport Association offers a reduced fare for parents accompanied by their child.
If a parent is travelling with their child or children on regional transport, they will receive a single ticket or day pass at a reduced fare.
All accompanying children up to the age of 15 (up to the day before their 15th birthday) can be taken along free of charge by one parent when purchasing a single ticket or day pass at a reduced fare.
If both parents are travelling, the second parent also only pays the reduced fare.
Each accompanying child over the age of 15 (from the day of their 15th birthday) pays the reduced fare.
The regulation also applies analogously to grandparents, step-parents, adoptive parents and foster parents as well as mothers and fathers of children's villages.
The children must be registered on the proof of eligibility*.
