November 28 to November 30 Advent market at Stauff Castle
The Frankenmarkt Advent market is once again organized by the market town of Frankenmarkt this year. With its beautiful courtyard and rustic barn, the castle offers a very atmospheric setting for the traditional Frankenmarkt Advent market.
Over 50 exhibitors present their works in the castle and barn. Wooden goods, ceramics, handicrafts, Advent wreaths and much more are on offer at the arts and crafts exhibition. A large book exhibition invites you to browse and linger.
An extensive musical program, provided by local cultural institutions, ensures a pre-Christmas atmosphere. On the opening evening, Anja & Jana, finalists on "Die große Chance", will perform atmospheric Christmas songs. Visitors can look forward to a special performance on Saturday, when the famous Almtal Shepherds' Ensemble will set the mood for the upcoming Christmas festivities. On Sunday, young visitors can look forward to the "Winter Wichtel Geschichte" (Winter Gnome Story) with the well-known puppet theater by and with Josefine Merkatz. St. Nicholas also drops by and has something for every good child.
In the romantic inner courtyard, the local clubs spoil visitors with culinary delights. Homemade cakes and coffee are served in the Advent café.
The Frankomarchia Market Museum is open on Saturday and Sunday! Visitors have the opportunity to try out a historical replica of a Gutenberg letterpress at the special event on "Historical prints"
