Inhabited Celtic house at the opening of the Adventure Hiking Pass

29.03.2026 / 13:00- 17:00
St. Georgen im Attergau, Keltenhaus am Keltenbaumweg
Vergnügungsveranstaltung, Sonstige Vergnügungsveranstaltung

History comes to life on the Celtic Tree Trail at Kogl in Attergau: As part of the grand opening of the Adventure Hiking Pass hiking trails, an inhabited Celtic house will open its doors on March 29 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Visitors can immerse themselves in the everyday life of the Celts and experience first-hand what life might have been like centuries ago. This experience is ideal for children and families in particular - they can marvel, discover and join in. A Celtic woman creates a cozy and authentic atmosphere, preparing traditional bread on a stick over the fire and inviting guests of all ages to linger. An afternoon full of adventure, nature and history awaits you - perfect for going on a journey of discovery together.

The Celtic House on the Koglberg in Sankt Georgen im Attergau was built by experimental archaeologists and is unique in Upper Austria due to its location on the edge of the forest. Along with the adventure playground, the Celtic House is one of the highlights of the approximately 2.5 km long themed hiking trail.

At the "Inhabited Celtic House" event, visitors also have the opportunity to take a look inside the house and all visitors are invited to bake "stickbread" over the campfire.

Admission is free. The Attersee-Attergau Tourist Association is looking forward to welcoming many visitors!  Parking is available at the Kogl roundabout "Keltenbaumweg" car park or a shorter route to the Keltenhaus car park at the Rehabilitation Centre "Am Kogl".
