Sustainability as a way of life

For the Plachy family from Unterach, sustainability is not just an empty phrase, but a need and a way of life. You can also taste this in their products.
Since 2018, Theresa and Martin Plachy, supported by their children Raphael, Miriam Lara and Elias Xaver, have been lovingly running the NaturHof Roithbauer farm in the fourth generation.

Since August 2021, the Plachy family has been running a self-service farm store where you can buy their natural products such as hay milk, whey and fresh cheese, as well as honey and fine brandies. Take a look too!

Roithbauer's Tyrolean gray cattle spend most of the year, from spring to November, on pasture. This means that the dairy cows are fed exclusively on grass and sun-dried hay.
Due to their low body weight, they cause little treading damage and this allows for soil-friendly, natural and sustainable grazing.
And the sustainable idea is also reflected in the packaging of the products, because the certified hay milk is sold exclusively in glass deposit bottles. The happy dairy cows can cool off in the shade of the numerous fruit trees, from whose fruit the fruit brandies and spirits are made. For the bottle labels, the Plachy children creatively assist with their fingerprints. In this way, unique ideas are created again and again.
