This site, located on top of a hill above the lake, was historically used by the Celts and Romans as a place for worshipping, as indicated by findings of many statues at the site. This church was built in honor of saint Andreas, because he is the patron of the village.
The construction period of this church is not known but they suppose the construction took place in 1410. The tower of the church was completely restructured in 1966/67.
Bishop Maximilian Aichern decicated the new organ in 2002. Since 1985 you can visit the "Binder-crib" in the church, which was carved by sculptor Franz Binder.
