GUSTAV KLIMT - Places of longing of the Austrian painter

One of his favourite motifs was Lake Attersee, an idyllic lake in Upper Austria. Klimt spent many summers here and created a large number of works that captured the beauty and grace of the lake and its surroundings.

Here you will find all the events, group offers and informative walks centred around the artist Gustav Klimt and his places of longing on Lake Attersee.

There are few Austrian artists who are as highly regarded on the international art scene as the Viennese Art Nouveau painter Gustav Klimt. And there are only a few regions in Austria that have such a direct connection to this outstanding symbolist as the Attersee-Attergau holiday region in the Salzkammergut.
