Nine SUMMERLY moments of pleasure

Away from the fun of swimming in Austria's largest lake, the Attersee-Attergau region offers unique moments of pleasure in summer - let yourself be tempted by culinary delights from cocktails on Lake Attersee to handy fish dishes and find your perfect pleasure experience here:

TIP 1: Robert DeNiroRoyal or The Elvis - a different kind of breakfast

It's not the famous holiday guests of the Attersee-Attergau region who are behind these resounding names, but probably the most surprising culinary breakfast menu. Start your day at Lake Attersee with a special meal in the morning.

Countless exceptional culinary combinations await you. Hidden behind the melodious names are pancakes with peanut butter and bacon or a prawn egg dish with oven-fresh waffles and a glass of Prosecco. Let yourself be surprised!

TIP 2: Colour in Karli and secure yourself an ice cream scoop

When master confectioner Karl Ottet needs fresh lemons for the famous Ottet lemon ice cream, he sources them directly from southern Italy or from the Südbahnhof market in Linz. For the vanilla ice cream, he uses fresh bourbon vanilla from Madagascar and the organic eggs come from the Roitherhof farm in Nussdorf. The high-quality ingredients, combined with a great deal of skill and dedication, are the secret to the success of the delicious ice cream from the Ottet patisserie. Join in and get your free scoop of ice cream: simply colour in this colouring template and hand it in at the Ottet confectionery.

TIP 3: Enjoy a night in New York on Lake Attersee

A touch of big city feeling combined with excellent cocktails in the Salzkammergut - that's probably the best way to describe Markus Winzer's New York Bar at Hotel Winzer.

Awarded 3 out of 4 Fallstaff cocktail glasses and voted the best bar of the year by Mixology, guests can look forward to many special flavour experiences. The summer drinks bring lots of ripe fruit into the glass. Gin, vodka and whiskey serve as the base, finished with mint, raspberries or ginger. Or would you prefer a drink with basil? You're sure to find what you're looking for here!

TIP 4: Fish kebab and fish dürum - fish with a difference

Among locals and regular guests from near and far, the fish kebab and fish dumplings from Unterach am Attersee are a culinary insider tip. Practical and handy, refined with homemade yoghurt sauce, you can enjoy the salmon trout from our own farm in the innovative form of a kebab. The fish kebab with salmon trout from our own salmon farm, between Mondsee and Attersee, is always available on Fridays from 10:00 to 16:00 and in July and August also on Saturdays from 10:00 to 14:00 at the in-house snack bar. Please note that the snack bar is only open in good weather.

TIP 5: Enjoyment right by the water - beach clubs & bars on Lake Attersee

An absolute must on a holiday in the Attersee-Attergau region is at least one visit to a beach club or bar on Lake Attersee. Enjoy a drink with a view of the lake to round off your day. Find your own personal favourite bar on Lake Attersee: whether it's a cosy bar on the landing site in Attersee am Attersee, modern at "Das Katamaran" or "Das Bootshaus", both in Weyregg am Attersee, or with award-winning cuisine at Achterdeck by Aichinger in Nussdorf am Attersee and the newly opened "Genussufer" in Unterach am Attersee. We have summarised the beach clubs and bars around Lake Attersee for you at a glance.

TIP 6: Delicious alpine delicacies at the Födinger Alm

Enjoy delicious delicacies at the rustic, cosy hut at 893 m above sea level, which is easily accessible on foot via a beautiful private forest road. Delicious Beuschel with bread dumplings, bacon dumplings, various snacks and homemade cakes are available at the hut.

The magnificent panorama, the culinary offerings and the warm hospitality make the Födinger Alm a popular excursion destination on Lake Attersee.

TIP 7: The Kienklause - an inn with tradition

In summer, you should not miss a visit to one of the oldest inns in the Attersee-Attergau region, the Kienklause Inn. The location of the inn is as interesting as its history. The popular inn is located between Lake Attersee and Lake Traunsee and is known for its traditional and regional cuisine and generous portions. The idyllic location is both a blessing and a curse. Mobile phone and internet reception fail, which is even noted on the establishment's homepage. The inn, founded in 1905, is one of the oldest inns in the region. We therefore wish you undisturbed enjoyment!

TIP 8: "Ordentlich" pleasure at the "Gschlamperten" Cremeschnitte

High up at 700 metres above sea level, with a magnificent view of Lake Attersee, the path leads us to the "Gschlamperten Cremeschnitte". On the Wachtberg in Weyregg am Attersee, you not only have a marvellous view of the lake and the panorama, but are also spoiled with culinary delights.

Freshly prepared and quickly sold out, it is an absolute gourmet classic in the Wachtberg restaurant. The "Gschlamperte Cremeschnitten", garnished with fresh fruit in summer, is an absolute must for those with a sweet tooth.

TIP 9: Enjoy home-brewed beers under the plum trees

Volkher Kaltenböcks runs the Kaltenböck brewery together with his brother Herwig. In addition to the brewery, today they even grow their own beers and hops in their own fields and run the Hoarngarten cider tavern. The Mostschenke zum Hoangarten is housed in a 300-year-old farmhouse. Especially in summer, you can enjoy a traditional snack here under old plum trees with a home-brewed Hoangarten beer and a wonderful view of the Höllengebirge mountains.
