We arrive on a sunny spring day, preferring the airy terrace to the cosy parlour. The young man serving us is friendly and attentive, and the table setting is promising with delicious Liptauer, smoky Verhackert and a slice of Duroc bacon. The **beef soup with herb fritters** was impeccable. The **Innviertler Grammelknödel** small and with flour dough, as it should be, the baked sauerkraut on the salad a nice, albeit dispensable course. The quail breasts were as soft as butter, the fennel softly braised, the celeriac cream a delight, as was the aromatic gravy. A feast for the eyes as well as the palate, the pink roasted **veal boiled beef with potato puree and delicate green wild garlic foam.** This demonstrates the skill of patron Hans Lugstein, who learnt his trade from the legendary Karl Eschlböck and is clearly undiminished in his passion for cooking. The **vanilla crème brûlée** with raspberries and chocolate ice cream and the white chocolate mousse with tonka bean and rum-soaked plums are also worth a sin.
