Together with the celebrated mezzo-soprano Stefanie Irányi, the Ensemble Amarcord Wien brings a program on stage that is all about the tango legend Astor Piazzolla. Born 100 years ago in Mar del Plata, Argentina, he revolutionized traditional tango, which gave him worldwide fame and popularity that has remained unbroken to this day. The program will be expanded to include vocal works by the master and will extend the range to the great opera. Milestones in opera literature are on board with arias from Verdi's “Troubadour” and Bizet's “Carmen”.
