After a suitable site was made available by the Sparkasse Frankenmarkt for free in 1997, planning work was started.As a basis for the planning, a basic concept was selected from 4 architect proposals in accordance with the specifications of FF Frankenmarkt. Since the space requirement program of the LFK allowed the size of the possible premises and facilities, the decision was rapidly made to dispense with a basement. This was easily possible due to the 3184 m² plot, and also an advantage from the cost factor. A second point to the design of the building and the special feature of the project was the execution of the head building in round design. This special feature of the new fire station is probably unique in this way. After the financing was secured in the year 2001 (total project costs EUR 1.500.000, -), the ground-breaking ceremony took place in December 2001 with snowstorms. The construction work progressed according to plan in 2002 and so in July 2002 the roofing was celebrated. Even before the winter, the heating system was put into operation, and so was a rapid continuity in the internal completion possible. Since the FF Frankenmarkt has more than 13 trained carpenters, almost the entire interior was made on its own. For this purpose, a carpentry workshop was set up for about half a year.At the end of May 2003, the relocation to the new fire station took place.
