Every year, the Klimt Center presents a new exhibition that enriches the cultural offerings around the world artist Klimt. Gustav Klimt and Lake Attersee have a long history. The world-famous artist spent his summer holidays at Lake Attersee between 1900 and 1916, creating numerous masterpieces inspired by the region. The Klimt am Attersee association is responsible for preserving the cultural heritage of "Gustav Klimt am Attersee" and has created a cultural meeting place for regional visitors and international guests with the Klimt Center. The Klimt Center is operated by the Klimt am Attersee association, the project is supported by the federal government, the state and the European Union as well as the Regatta Leader Region. **EXHIBITION 2026: "Poetry of the Landscape - Klimt & Teschner"** From May 22, 2026, the Klimt Center at Lake Attersee is hosting the new exhibition Poetry of Landscape - Klimt and Teschner, celebrating the return of an extraordinary original: Gustav Klimt's drawing "Gertrude Flöge" (1912) can be seen at Lake Attersee for the first time in many years. The exhibition spans a fascinating dialog between two artists who experienced and shaped the same place in very different ways: Klimt, who created his famous landscape paintings on Lake Attersee, and Richard Teschner, who worked and lived in the nearby Villa Paulick. This historical encounter is complemented by contemporary positions by Heinz Kasper and Pablo Meier-Schomburg, who take a fresh look at landscape, memory and Klimt's legacy.
