The course of the stream is impressive: narrow flow courses cut deep into the rock alternate with numerous meanders - and in between, again and again, the pools. To preserve and permanently protect natural habitats is the main goal of the European protected area Natura 2000. **COLORS OF THE GIMBACHER CASCADES** Depending on the duration of good weather, the Gimbach gets its own coloration. After long dry periods the brook shows its green veil - after rainy weather it appears in a yellowish tone. **GIMBACH CASCADES** The Gimbach falls over cascades from the southern flank of the Höllengebirge over about 200 meters of altitude towards Äußerer Weißenbach. Several waterfalls, which flow into gullies, form a beautiful natural spectacle. Some of these gullies, which are two to seven meters deep, contain uprooted trees, while other gullies are rich in fish. **HIKING**- **Starting point Fachbergbrücke Weißenbach - trail no. 10 or 10a, approx. 1 1/2 hours:** From the Eibenberg circular trail, branch off to the left before it rejoins an ascending forest road.
