In the year 1716, Count Franz Ferdinand Khevenhüller founded the glassworks in Freudenthal that were in operation until 1942. The Freudenthal Glassworks were rated among the most important factories during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Range of Products: Hollow glassware, glass containers, house ware and gifts (such as the famous Freudenthal figured bottles), sacred items and varied lights and lamps. The museum opened its doors to the public in May 1999. Items on display range from stunning blown pieces to simple objects. Documents, tools, and photographs accompany the story of early glass-making at Freudenthal Glassworks.
