It is run by the Astronomischer Arbeitskreis Salzkammergut. As far as the situation allows, guided tours of the observatory are possible. **Observatory Gahberg** The observatory Gahberg in Weyregg am Attersee is the club observatory of the Astronomischer Arbeitskreis Salzkammergut and was built in 1987/1988 by the active members of the club in over 3,000 working hours. It is located at an altitude of 860 metres above sea level. In 2003/2004 the observatory complex was extended and equipped with numerous telescopes. It has a comprehensive collection of special telescopes for lunar, solar and planetary observation, as well as for observing faint objects. The private observatory is very well suited for sky photography with conventional and digital photography. Guided tours at the observatory Gahberg near Weyregg am Attersee are held on a case-by-case basis, depending on weather conditions. The observatory tour dates are announced at short notice (2 to 3 days) in advance via mail to the registered interested parties.
