Art and Culture in the Attersee-Attergau region

Our calender of events in the Attersee-Attergau region boasts the Attergauer New Year’s Concert in January, the International Nikolaus Harnoncourt Days in May, the events of the Attergauer Kultursommer festival and the Gustav Mahler Festival in the summer. The crime fiction festival "Mörderischer Attersee" offers fine readings and book presentations throughout the year.

Inspired by the scenery, painters started visiting Lake Attersee in the 19th century in search of motifs for their paintings.  One of them was the world-famous Art Nouveau painter Gustav Klimt.

But not only painters, also poets, composers and many others have left their marks around Lake Attersee.

Come and discover the multi-faceted art and culture aspects the Attersee-Attergau region has to offer and let yourself be enchanted by our creative and musical assortment!
